The Surgical Treatment Of Extravertebral Bone And Joint Tuberculosis

Abstract

A correct indication for the surgical treatment of bone and joint tuberculosis is of great importance. Of the inflammatory reaction of tuberculosis is at synovial stage or if the primary focus has not caused bone, particularly cartilaginous destruction, conservative treatment should be employed. If joints suffer from bone and cartilaginous destruction and cavities and seguestrae have developed, an indication for surgical treatment should be considered. In extravertebral tuberculosis synovectomy is the most radical treatment at the initial period, whereas in advanced stages, arthrodesis is the treatment of choice.

Abstract

Kemik ve eklem tuberkulozunun cerrahi tedavisinde dogru endikasyonun önemi büyüktür. Tuberküloz iltihabi reaksiyonu sinovyal safhada ise veya primer odak kemik, özellikle kartilaj yıkımına neden olmamışsa konservatif tedavi uygulanmalidir. Eğer kemik ve kartilaj yıkımı varsa kaviteler ve sekestrler oluşmuşsa, cerrahi tedavi endikasyonu sınırları başlar. Vertebra dışı tüberkulozda, başlangiç döneminde sinovyektomi. ilerlemiş dönemlerde ise artrodez en radikal tedavidir.
