Ankle fusion
Abstract
The technique with the Charnley compression device is the preferred treatment among the methods of ankle fusion, because it provides the inherent stability after the correction of the ankle deformity and achieves union in a shorter time. The success of the treatment depends on achieving the union as well as obtaining the accepted position of the heel and the condition of the neighbouring joints.
