Snapping Hip

Abstract

Snapping hip means on audible and palpable even visible snap usualiy occurs when a tense fascial band catches as it slides over the superior margin of the greater trochanter as the hip flexed, adducted or internally rotated. Because it is usually painless a true snapping hip rarely requires surgery. However, when a treatment is necessary, the operation is simple and results are excellent. In this monograph two snapping hips are presented.
