Congenital pseudoarthrosis of the tibia

Abstract

Congenital pseduarthrosis of the tibia which is one of the most difficult diseases of orthopaedics in regard with its treatment may be accepted as a congenital defect of ossification at the junction of the middie third and lower portions of the tibia, and may sometimes be associated with fibrous dysplasia or neurofibromatosis. As pseudoarthrosis may be present at birth, it may also develop later. A great number approaches have been described concerning the treatment of the diseass. Ase there are authothors who would give preferance to stabilisation or stimulation of osteogenesis, there are also who preferred combined operations. Congenital pseudoarthrosis of the tibia which were treated by surgical methods in our clinic during the years between 1946-1975 have been reviewed in respect of their types and therepautical procedures employd and results obtained have been duly stated.

KONJENİTAL TİBİA PSÖDOARTROZU

Öz

Ortopedinin tedavisi en güç hastalıklarından birisi olan konjenital tibia psödoartrozu, tibianın 1/3 orta ve alt birleşme yerinde doğuştan bir kemikleşme defekti olarak kabul edilebilir. Bazen fibröz displazi veya nörofibromatozis ile birlikte bulunabilir. Psödoortroz doğumda mevcut olabileceği gibi daha sonra da gelişebilir. Hastalığın tedavisi için çok çeşitli ameliyat metodları tarif edilmiştir. Stablizasyona veya osteojenezisin uyarılmasma öncelik tanıyanlar olduğu gibi kombine ameliyatları tercih eden yazarlar da vardır. 1946-1975 yılları arasında İstanbul Üniversitesi İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniğinde ameliyatla tedavi edilen konjenital tibia psödoartrozları tipleri ve uygulanan tedavi yöntemleri yönünden araştırılmış ve alınan sonuçlar sunulmuştur.
