The mechanism of ankle fractures in the adult, their classification and the treatment applied

Abstract

In this article fracfures of ankle and their mechanism, cassificafions and treatment are emphasized in adults. Children's ankle fractures are different from those in adults, because the epiphysis and plate respond differently, so they are excluded. The signs of 20 patients which they had been treated by me between the years of 1977-1979 in our clinic are represented. It is emphasized that for the treatment the damages which are seen in distal tibiofibular syndesmosis and in lateral malleolus should be carefully inspected.
