Direct electrical treatments the infected pseudoartrosis the tibia
Abstract
In the last years, one of the interesting topic is on fracture healing with electrical stimulation. According to the results gatheret up tiil this date to lessen the normal period of fracture healing with etectrical stimulation is not possible but in the cases that healing has stopt of slowed-down because of delayed union and non union, by using electrical charge osteogenesis can be storted. Of course, these studies needs the cooperation of engineering sciences with medicine. In this case study, done by the orthopaedics and traumatology clinics of the İstanbul Medical Faculty of İstanbul University, the clinical details and the first results got after 6 months by using direct electric stimulation on a tibia which was infected 6 years before and was still infecfed at the time the first stimulation was given, have been told.
