Sudeck Atrophy

Abstract

Sudeck atrophy was observed to develop in 19 (% 7,2) cases of 263 colles fractures which were treated in the Clinic of Orthopaedic and Traumatology in the İstanbul Medical School. In consequence of treatment effected on these 19 cases results were seen to be excellent and good in 11 cases and fair and poor in 8 cases to be excellent and good in injuries developing generally secondary to trauma are treated adequately, attemps are mode under the light of data obtained from our cases and literature, to discuss the aetiology of ne development of sudeck atrophy which embarrasses both the orthopaedist and the patient, measurements to be taken to prevent its occurence and choice of treatment.

Öz

İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji kliniğinde tedavisi yapılmış olan 263 Colles kırığı olgusunun 19 unda (% 7,2) Sudeck atrofisi ortaya çıktığı görüldü. Bu 19 olguya uygulanan tedaviler sonucunda 11 olguda çok iyi ve iyi, 8 olguda ise orta ve kötü sonuç alındığı bulundu. Genellikle travmalardan sonra ortaya çıkan, kırık veya travmanın iyi bir şekilde tedavi edilmesine karşın gerek ortopedisti gerekse hastayı fazlasıyla üzen Sudeck atrofisinin oluş nedenleri, ortaya çıkmaması için alınması gereken önlemler ve tedavisi, olgularımızdan ve yayından edinilen bilgilerle tartışıldı.
