Importonce of the modern ski-technique of cartilage lesions of the knee-joint
Abstract
The actual technique of skiing-characterised throug modern skiboot contruction keeps the knee joint in a constant position of flexion and encumbers especially the femorepateflar joint. In addition there is an extreme stress by passing over ground waves. In this study it is reported upon biomechanical clinical and radiological consequences. In case of cartilage damages several therapy methods are recommended. A conservative therapy should be tried in easier cases and not extreme stress (vacation-skier only). The indication limite of operative methods (BASIL-HELAL, VIERSTEIN-WEIGERT and MAOUET-BAND) are discussed. As an example we demostrate two case reports.
