Splints and the importance of splinting

Abstract

Hands swell from trauma, infection operative procedures or vasomotor disturbances. If they are kept moving, this swelling is pumped away, for this the splints are used following these conditions. Splints to immobilize should be form fitting an in broad contact with the limb. Also, should maintaın position of function of all the uninsured parts. Gut triggers may be attached to the basic splint to hold the digits or draw them into flexion or extention. While the presoribing of the spilins should be atched of two key joints, wrist and MP are fundamental. Another standpoint, splints should be inexpensive, confortable, easy to wear and simple, eficient, light and inoffensive in appearance.

EL ATELLERİ VE ATELLEMENİN ÖNEMİ

Abstract

Elde kırık ve yaralanmalardan, enfeksiyonlardan, felçlerden ve vazomotor bozukluklardan sonra hareketsizlikten doğan bir şişlik ve sertlik meydana gelir. İşte bu durumlardan sonra elin mümkün olduğu kadar uygun pozisyonunu ve fonksiyonunu temin etmek için ateller kullanılır. Bu ateller, her ele ve hastalığa göre spesifik olmalı ve reçetelenirken maksada göre uygunluğuna çok dikkat etmelidir. El atellenirken, el bileği ve MP eklemi göze alınmalıdır, çünkü bu bölge elin anahtarı olarak kabul edilir. Diğer bir nokta da, vakalarımızda da görüldüğü gibi atelin hem ucuz, basit ve hasta tarafından gayet kolay takılıp çıkarılması hemde dış görünümünün güzel olması lazımdır.
