Abstract

Compression of the median nerve at the level of the carpal tunnel due to major trauma is a condition which is cassically known for a long time. Workers such as Tillaux-Bouilly have described difficult bone procedures in order to relieve this compression. However the nerve compression syndrome may result from minor trauma or may be unaccompanisd by any injury and especially the treatment of this syndrome only by surgical intervention on the soft tissue is relatively new pocedure. In the present study, in connection with a patient with bilateral carpal tunnel seyndroms presenting. Both clinically and surgically typical findings, the results are presented of a series of 5 cases treated by surgery.

Abstract

Büyük travmalar sonucu, N. Medianus'un Karpal Tünel seviyesinden kompresyonu çok eskiden beri klasik olorak bilinen bir gerçektir. TILLAUX-BOUILLY gibi müellifler, bu kompresyonu hafifletmek için zor kemiksel müdaheleler tarif etmişlerdir. Buna karşılık, hafif travmalar sonucu veya hiçbir travma olmadan sinirin kompresyonu sendromu ve bilhassa bu sendromun, sadece yumuşak kısım ameliyatları ile cerrahi tedavisi oldukça yeni bir yöntemdir. Bu çalışmada gerek klinik, gerekse tipik bulgular gösteren iki taraflı karpal tünel sendromtu bir vak'a münasebetiyle, 5 vak'alık operatif tedavi edilmiş bir serinin sonuçları ortaya konulmuştur.
