Acute Osteomyelitis in Children

Abstract

The prognosis of osteomyelitis in children has improved after the development of antibiotic. However, the importance of the disease is still present because of its sequele seen in the skeletal system. The use of antibiotics have affected clinical and pathological conditions of disease, but caused the development of new types of osteomyelitis. The clinical and pathological properties and principals of the treatment have been studied under the lights of literature, with the collaboration of the Department of Pediatrics and Department of Orthopedics ond Traumatoiogy at the School of Medicine of Aegean University.
