Congenital Club Foot Deformity (A long;term follow-up of 12 cases)

Abstract

In this paper, 55 congenital club feet deformities were treated by conservatively with the cast correction, between the years of 1966 - 1975. The characteristics of 12 cases followed approximately 5 years have been discussed. Out of 12 cases, four were graded fairly. In these four cases, the most conspicuous complication is the varus recurrence of the hind foot clinically and flat top talus radiologically. In the long-term follow-up, the cases effect recurrence and the complications encountered in the soft tissues and bones were discuessed. As a result, it has been advised that the treatment should be started within a few days soon after birth, cast correction should be applied meticulousiy and attention must be given to recurrences in the follow-up period.
