Hydatid Disease of Bone

Abstract

A case of hydatid cyst, localized in the ilium of a eleven years old girl is presented. Although, soft tissue hydatid cysts are quite common in Turkey. Localization in the bone is rare. At first this case was diagnosed and treated as bone tuberculosis, later was proved to be a hydatid cyst, after histologic and serologic examination. Previously reported cases and the textbooks are reviewed.

Abstract

Onbir yaşında bir kız çocuğunun sol iliumunda oluşan bir kemik kist hidatiği vakası takdim edildi. Önce kemik tüberkülozu olarak kabul edilen bu vakanın teşhisinde karşılaşılan güçlüğün nedenleri tartışıldı. Bu münasebetle daha önce yayınlanmış olan kemik kist hidatiği vakaları ve bu konudaki klasik bilgiler incelendi.
