Traurnatic Necrosis of the Caput Femoris
Abstract
Necrosis have been seen in caput femoris after trauma due to ischemia. The main cause of the necrosis is due to the disposition of the vascular system of the caput femoris. Therefore it is extremly necessary to examine the circulation of the caput femoris. Caput necrosis may be encountered after the hip dislocations and the fractures of the neck of the femur treated by conservafcive or surgical means in some cases in respect to consolidation disorders necrosis may take place. From the clinical point of view the first definite sign is pain. The pain is in the ingumale region in groin. Furthermore limp and restriction of the hip motion are seen. Spontanous evolution varies in accordance with the widespread of the necrosis. There are only tour different kinds of possible methods of treatment of the caput femoris ilecrosis:
1 Graft insertion
2 Osteotomy
3 Arthroplasty
4 Arthrodesis
When necrosis develops surgical indication is chosen according to the functional position.
