Treatment selection in pediatric femoral shaft fractures

Abstract

Both conservative and surgical techniques are widely used in the treatment of femoral shaft fractures in children. In our study immediate spica-cast application for 0-2 ages, 90/90 skeletal traction (average 16.7 days) +Spica-cast application (average 7.2 weeks) for 2-10 ages, surgical treatment for above 10 age and fractures with associated injuries were used. Excellent and good result in 92% of cases, poor results in %8 of cases were obtained. Age groups and associated injuries affect the treatment selection.

Abstract

Çocuk femur cisim kırıkları tedavisinde, konservatif ve cerrahi birçok yömem kullanılmaktadır. Çalışmamızda; 0-2 yaş grubundu hemen pelvi-pedal alçılama, 2-10 yaş grubunda 90/90 iskelet fraksiyonu ortalama 16.7 gün) +pelvi-pedal alçı tespiti (ortalama 7.2 hafta), eşşlik eden yaralanması olan olgularla 10 yaş üstü ol-gularda cerrahı tedavi yöntemlerim uyguladığımız toplam 36 femur kırığını içeren serimizde %92 iyi ve çok iyi, %8 kötü sonuç elde ettik. Yaş grupları ve eşlik eden yaralanmaların varlığı tedavi seçimini etkilemektedir.
