Rehabilitation after arthroscopic meniscectomy and meniscal repair

Abstract

Meniscal injuries are reported to the most comon injury sustained by athletes, with sports injuries being responsible for over 30% of the total number of lesions. The athlete with a meniscal injury can return to activity quickly and safely with appropriate treatment and rehabilitation. There is no universal protocol for rehabilitation. The rehabilitation programme should emphasize decreasing inflammation restoring motion, increasing strength, and safe return to competition. Durring this process, in the phases of meniscus injuries of knee rehabilitation, the athlete and support team (trainer, parent, therapist, physician) can plan appropriate return to sports

Artroskopi ile menisektomi ve onarım sonrası rehabilitasyon

Öz

Spor yaralanmaları içinde %30 ve üstünde menisküs yaralanması en sık görülen yaralanma olarak rapor edilmiştir. Meniküs yaralanması olan bir sporcu uygun tedavi ve rehabilitasyon ile en hızlı ve en gü-venli bir şekilde aktiviteye döndürülmelidir. Rehabilitasyon konusunda üniverseli bir protokol yoktur. Rehabilitasyon programı inflamasyonu azaltma, hareketi restore etme, kuvveti artırma ve sportif aktiviteye güvenli dönüşü sağlamalıdır. Bu işlem sırasında, diz rehabilitasyonunun menisküs yaralanmaları fazında sporcu ve takım desteği ile (antrenör, anne-baba, terapist, doktor) spora en uygun dönüşü planlamalıdır.
