A study of anisotropy made by microhardness measurements on cancellous bone of human femoral head

Abstract

Microhardness measurements have been cardiedout on the sections of two femoral heads belonging two different persons. On each section hardness values were not constant. Therefore it was concluded that it is extremely difficut to suggest any mathematical formulae or hypothesis representing the law of anisotropy of spongeous bone. In order to achieve constitutive equations explaining biomechanical behavior, it is necessary to run several mechanical and microstructural experiments on the various sections.

İnsan femur başı spongeous kemik dokusunda mikro-sertlik ölçümü ile anizotropi etüdü

Abstract

İki ayrı insana ait iki adet femur başı kesitlerinde mikrosertlik ölçümleri yapıldı. Her iki femur başında çok sayıda alınan ölçümler farklılıklar göstermiştir. Spongeous kemiğin sertliği insandan insana farklılık gösterdiği gibi aynı bir kemikte, birbirlerine yakın dahi olsa farklı bölgeler farklı sertlik göstermektedir. Bu farklılıkların belirtili bir formüle bağlanması çok sayıda değişik numunelerin denenmesine bağlıdır. Bunun sonucunda ise femur başı biyomekaniği daha iyi anlaşılacak ve böylece, kullanılan ortopedik implantların dizaynına ışık tutacaktır.
