Determination of optimum screwing torsional moment in the screw osteosynthesis (experimental study of the human cadaver bones)

Abstract

In this experimental study, we tried to determine the optimum torsional moment, by mounting an electro. nic torsional screw driver, which has a sensitivity of 0-2000 Nm, of specially designed screw and plate models for human cadaver bone diaphyses. During these applications measurements were performed using X-Y recorder and strainmeter and by human sense. Results of different trials with respect to applied force (Nm) were completely different from each other. On the other hand during the application of screws into the bones at the starting point of elasticity, after friction moment was defined, the screw driver was rotated up to 90° in clockwise direction and stopped. In all experiments this procedure was repeated. In graphics, the highest point of screwing moment relative to the elastic phase were defined as mentioned below; Upper third: 53.3%, middle third: 36.7%, lower third: 10.0%. As a conclusion, it's contended that, after squeezing had started we obtained optimum screwing torsional moment with the rotation of screw driver up to 90°.

Vida osteosentezlerinde optimum sıkma momentinin tayini (insan kadavra kemikleri üzerinde deneysel araştırma)

Abstract

Bu deneysel çalışmada, insan kadavra kemikleri diafizlerine özel olarak hazırlanan vida-plak modelleri, 02000 Nm. hassasiyetindeki elektronik tornavida ile monte edilerek optimum sıkma momentlerinin belirlenmesine çalışıldı. Uygulamalar esnasında gerek duyusal ve gerekse strain metre ve X- Y yazıcısı kullanılarak ölçümler yapıldı. 30 ayrı denemede elde edilen sonuçların, uygulanan kuvvet itibariyla, birbirinden tamamen farklı olduğu, buna karşılık, vidaların kemiğe uygulanması esnasında başlangıçtaki sürtünmeyi takip eden sıkışmanın hissedildiğini ve yazıcıda kuvvet yüklenmesinin görüldüğü noktadan itibaren, tornavidanın 90° çevrilmesiyle elde edilen grafiklerde, maksimum sıkma momenti tepe noktasının elastik deformasyon fazının üst 1/3'ünde %53.3, orta 1/3'ünde %36.7 ve alt 1/3'ünde %10 oranında bulunduğu saptandı. Sonuç olarak, sıkışma başladığı andan itibaren, tornavidanın 90° rotasyonu ile optimum sıkma momentinin elde edilebileceği kanaati edinildi.
