The correlation between periarthritis humeroscapularis calcarae and metabolic diseases

Year 1993, Volume: 27 Issue: 1, 18 - 21, 11.09.2006

Abstract

We investigated 120 patients with the diagnosis of PHS calcarea between the years of 1981 and 1991 and with the diagnosis of PHS simplex between the years of 1990 and 1991 in order to find out whether PHS calcarea is a metabolic disease or not. We compared the two groups regarding serum glucose, uric acid, colesteroie and trigliseride levels .The comparison was based on the Goodman's scheme. We couldn't find any correlation betwen the calcification and age, sex and biochemichal results. The resuits of lipoprotein electrophoresis of our patient's with PHS calcarea were pathologic in 18.3%; namely men had a predominance of beta-lipoproteins and women had a predominance of alfa-lipoproteins.

Periartiritisin Humeroscapularis Calcarea'nın Metabolik Hastalıklarla İlişkisi

Year 1993, Volume: 27 Issue: 1, 18 - 21, 11.09.2006
