Hastaların tamamına kontrastsız spondilografiye, 127'sinde kontrastlı miyelografi 35'inde kompütürlü tomografi yapılmıştır. Röntgenometrik ölçümler yapılarak hastalar 3 gruba ayrılmıştır. Grupların özelliklerine göre tedavi metodu seçilmiştir. Tedavi sonunda hastalar iki yıl ile beş yıl arası takip edilmişlerdir. Ağrı semptomu 123 hastada tamamiyle yok olurken, 43 hastada yalnlz lumbal bölgede bazen gelen zayıf ağrı şikayetleri kalmıştır. Postoperatif 15 hastada komplikasyon görülmüştür.
