Treatment of subtrochanteric fractures with 95° AO condylar plate

Abstract

We reviewed the results of 17 patients treated for subtrochanteric fractures using 95 degree AO condylar plate in Taksim State Hospital between January 1987 and December 1989 with an average follow-up of 11 months. We obtained a union rate of 87.5 %. The average Harris hip rating score was found to be 68.17. As a result of this study, we concluded 95° AO condylar plate is a reliable implant for most of the subtrochanteric fractures if applied with care to technical details.

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Taksim Hastanesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji kliniğinde Ocak 1987 ile Aralık 1989 tarihleri arasında femur subtrokanterik bölge kırığı nedeni ile açık redüksion ve 95° Iik AO kondiler plağı ile internal fiksasyon yapılarak tedavi edilen 17 vakanın ortalama 11 aylık takip süreleri sonundaki sonuçları değerlendirilmiştir. Bu hastalarda %87.5 oranında kaynama ve Harris değerlendirme sistemine göre 1 00 üzerinden 68. 17 puanlık fonksiyonel sonuç elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilere dayanarak 95° Iik AO kondiler plağın, teknik detaylara dikkat edilerek kullanılmak şartıyla, subtrokanterik kırıkların tedavisinde güvenilir bir implant olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
