Solitary calcaneal bone cyst and the treatment in children

Abstract

Solitary bone cyst is a cystic Iesion with benign course. Etiopathogenesis of the disease in unclear. Often the disease arises in the metaphysis of Iong bones. Disease rarely arises within calcaneus; particularly in children. The youngest patient with calcaneal cyst that was reported in the Iiterature was 5 years old. Our patient was 2,5 years old and is the youngest patient reported. Our patient was treated with curettage and autogenous bone grafting.

Abstract

Etyopatogenezi daha tam olarak aydınlatılamamış olan soliter kemik kisti benign karakterli kistik bir Iezyondur. Sıklıkla uzun kemiklerin metafizer bölgelerini tutar. Kalkaneusta oldukça nadir olarak yerleşir. Küçük çocuklarda aynı zamanda kalkaneusta yerleşme oranı daha azdır. Literatürde kalkaneusta yerleşim yaşı en küçük 5 yaştır. Olgumuz 2.5 yaşında olup Iiteratürde bilinen en küçük olgudur ve tedavisi küretaj ve otojen grefonaj ile yapılmıştır.
