Year 1998, Volume: 32 Issue: 1, 81 - 84, 11.09.2006

Abstract

In this article, we evaluated electrical burns that have some difficulties in the treatment. Electrical burns beyond 15% for adults and 10% for children indicate fluid replacement. Elevation, splinting, intermittent positive pressure compression and wet pedding, are other indicating treatment modalities. Treatment and complications of this common injury are discussed in the view of the literature and recent advances are given.
