Abstract

Omuz ekleminde şişlik şikayetiyle başvuran hastalarda ayırıcı tanıda zorluklarla karşılaşılabilir. Sol omuzda 10x10 cm boyutlarında ağrısız yumuşak doku kitlesi ile başvuran ve travma anamnezi olmayan 29 yaşındaki erkek hastada yapılan tetkikler sonucunda kitlenin subakromial kökenli olduğu anlaşıldı. Kitlenin cerrahi olarak çıkarılması sonucunda, içinde pirinç tanesi görünümünde çok sayıda oluşum gözlendi. Patolojik inceleme, klinik ve laboratuvar araştırmaları sonucunda kitlenin subakromial bursanın kronik enflamasyonu sonucu geliştiği düşünüldü.

Abstract

The differential diagnosis in a patient with a swelling in the shoulder region can sometimes be confounding. A twenty-nine-year-old male patient presented with a painless soft tissue mass in his left shoulder measuring 10x10 cm. No history of trauma was elicited. Examination suggested a soft tissue mass of subacromial origin. The mass was surgically removed and was found to include numerous rice bodies. Pathologic, clinical and laboratory investigations suggested that it was associated with a chronic inflammation of the subacromial bursa.
