SCREW-PLATE CORROSlON AND THE PROBABILITY OF SPONGIOSA TO BE CRUSHED IN COMPRESSION OSTEOSYNTHESIS

Abstract

The study presented below depends on biomechanical investigations and calculations. Angular autocompression plate leads to damage in spongiosa in callum femoris and trachanteric mass when an interfragmantary pressure of 200 kg/cm2 is created in a varisation osteotomy.
We have already observed corrosion damages and metallosis upon the removal of muitiple angular auto-compression plates. In this study attempts have been made to investigate and discuss the meohanism of corrosion damages on the basis of biomechanical conditions.
In order for a progressive metallosis to be prevented, metal implantations should be removed in one year, after the alte of asteotomy is united osseousiy.

Abstract

Sunulan çalışma biyomekanik incelemelere, hesaplamalara dayanmaktadır. Açılı otokompresyon plağı, bir varizasyon osteotomisinde 200 kg/cm2 lik bir interfragmanter basınç yaratıldığında, kollum femoris ile trohanter kitlesinde spongioza zararlarına yol açmamaktadır.
Çok sayılardaki açılı otokompresyon plaklarının yıllar boyu uzaklaştırılmalarında korozyon zararları ile metalloz gözlemlemiştik. Bu çalışmada korozyon zararlarının oluş mekanizması biyomekanik koşutlar temelinde incelenip tartışıldı. İlerleyen bir metailozun önlenmesi için, metal implantasyonları, osteotomi yeri ossöz olarak kaynadıktan sonra, bir yıl içinde uzaklaştırılmalıdır.
