Abstract

60 Patients with spinal cord injury were studied retrospectively with regard to the development of myositis ossificans below the lesion level. 6 Out of these patients had the evidence of heterotopic bone formation. Recently there has been a declination in the incidence of this pathology. The possible reason to it is the more active rehabilitation programmes adapted by us in our department for these patients. Evidenee has been accumulated that myositis ossfficans following spnal cord injury needs an aggresive passive range of motion therapy and an early ambulation programme.

Paraplejik Hastalarda Miyozitis Ossifikans Oluşumunu Etkileyen Faktörler

Abstract

60 Medülla spinalis yaralanmalı hastanın dosyaları incelenerek, lezyon düzeyinin altında miyozitis ossifikans gelişimi araştırılmıştır Bu hastalardan 6 sında heteropotik kemik oluşumuna ait bulgular tesbit edilmiştir. Son yıllarda bu patoloiinin görülme oranında bir azalma olmuştur. Bunun muhtemel nedeni, bu hastalar için kliniğimizde giderek daha aktif rehabilitasyon programlarının benimsenmesidir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, medülla spinalis yaralanmalarından sonra oluşan miyozitis ossifikansda yoğun pasif eklem hareketleri tedavisinin yanısıra, erken bir ambülasyon programının gerekli olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.
