Abstract
Attempts have been made to review cases in which we have adapted high tibial osteotomy in the osteoarthritis of the knee which develops as a result of valgus or varus deformity and in which only one half of the knee is involved. Research has been effected in literature regarding this matter. For high tibial osteotomy we have indicated criteria tor indications and contraindications, surgical technique we have applied, calculations for the degree of correction to be made in the angular deformity, and our experience concerning this matter. Presenting samples from our cases, we have tried to stress that in the osteoarthritis of the knee in which only one half is involved, very good results have been obtained by altering weight-bearing stresses of high tibial osteotomy.

Abstract
Valgus veya varus deformitesi sonucu ortaya çıkan ve dizin yalnız bir yansının tutulduğu, diz osteoartritlerinde, yüksek tibia osteotomisi uyguladığımız olgular gözden geçirildi. Bu konu ile ilgili literatür araştırması yapıldı. Yüksek tibia osteotomisi için, indikasyon ve kontrindikasyon kriterleri, uyguladiğımız ameliyat tekniği, açısal deformitede yapılacak düzeltme derecesinin hesaplanması ve bu konu ile ilgili tecrübelerimiz belirtildi. Olgularımızdan örnekler sunularak, yalnız bir yarı;sının tutulduğu diz osteoartritlerinde, yüksek tibia osteotomisinin ağırlık taşıma streslerini değiştirmek suretiyle, çok iyi sonuçlar verdiği vurgulanmaya çalışıldı.
