Islam religion approaches leadership in the frame of hilafet (khilafah)/imamet (imamate). The leadership traits that the managers should display, are both commanded in Kur’an-ı Kerim in terms of hilafet/imamet and suggested in the masterpieces of Islamic philosophers. The main purpose of this study is to reveal the required leadership traits of managers in the frame of Islamic tradition by scrutinizing the verses (ayahs) in Kur’an-ı Kerim, the sources about the last Prophet Muhammed (s.a.v) and examining the masterpieces of Islamic philosophers. In addition, it is aimed to put forward the fact, if businessmen, who are members of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (Müstakil Sanayici ve İş Adamları Derneği-MÜSİAD) carry these qualities or not. The method of the research is literature review and interview. In this sense, the hadiths in Koran, Islamic masterpieces and the masterpieces that are written for Islamic managers by Islamic philosophers are scrutinized. Upon that, an interview is conducted with the members of MÜSİAD Bursa branch and the data is analysed via qualitative analysis. According to the findings, members of MÜSİAD carry all these qualifications.
