Author Guidelines
Format-Free Submission
Authors may submit their paper in any scholarly format or layout. Manuscripts may be supplied as single or multiple files. There are no strict formatting requirements, but all manuscripts must contain the essential elements needed to evaluate a manuscript: abstract, author affiliation, figures, tables, funder information, and references. Further details may be requested upon acceptance.
Structure
Should be written with the following elements in the following order: title page, abstract, keywords, main text introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, acknowledgments, declaration of interest statement, references, appendices (as appropriate).
Submissions must be in Microsoft Word (*.doc, *.docx) format.
Word Limits
Should be no more than 8500 words and include an unstructured abstract of 250 words. No more than 5 keywords should be added.
Figures and Tables
Figures should be high quality, please provide the highest quality figure format possible (300 dpi for colour). Figures should be supplied in one of our preferred file formats: JPEG, PNG, TIFF, or Microsoft Word (*.doc, *.docx) files are acceptable for figures that have been drawn in Word.
Figures and tables can be placed within the text or sent as separate files. If sent separately, indicate the location where an illustration should be placed in the text with a figure number – for example, 'Insert figure 2 about here' – or in separate written instructions. All figures must be numbered in the order in which they appear in the manuscript (e.g. Figure 1, Figure 2). All figures and tables within the document must be referenced.
Tables should be presented in an editable format.
References
There is no strict formatting requirement for the first submission, but references must be formatted according to
APA 7th edition guidelines.
Title Page
Please remember that a title page must also be uploaded with your article file. All authors of a manuscript should include their full name and affiliation on the cover page of the manuscript.
The title page should contain the following information in order: The main title of the article, author information (for each author: first name, last name, title, institutional information, email, ORCID number - ORCID information is mandatory. You can obtain your ORCID from
https://orcid.org/), author contribution, funding and acknowledgments, conflict of interest, ethics committee statement, and artificial intelligence statement. Articles produced from a thesis or presented as a paper should be highlighted in a footnote, and the responsible author of the article should be indicated.
Authors' contributions. The contributions of authors to the manuscript should be specified in this section. For example, the statement should be added that “the authors contributed equally to the study” or “the 1st author contributed ...%, and the second author contributed % ...”
Funding and acknowledgements. All sources of funding for the research reported should be declared, and acknowledgment information should be added here. If you do not have anyone to acknowledge, please write “Not applicable” in this section.
Competing interests. Competing interests must be declared in this section, and the approved plan for the contingency should be reported. If there is no conflict of interest, it should be stated that “there is no potential conflict of interest”.
Ethics committee declaration. If it is a study that requires ethics committee approval, it should be reported. Ethics committee approval statement should include the institution’s name, approval number, and the date it was received. If there is no ethics committee approval, a statement should be written explaining why it could not be obtained. If the study does not require an ethics committee, please write “Not applicable” in this section.
Artificial intelligence declaration. If generative artificial intelligence support (text editing, language translation, command-based printing, etc.) was used in the study, the relevant section and method of use must be clearly stated here. If it was not used, please write “No generative artificial intelligence support was used” in this section.
Biographical note. Please supply a short biographical note for each author. This section should not exceed 200 words.
Plagiarism and Originality Verification
ArtDesign Journal enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism. Authors must declare that their submissions are original and unpublished. All manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening. Submissions exceeding a similarity index of
15% may be rejected or returned for revision.
