Abstract

It is seen that the lower social economic group is faced with housing problems with the increasing housing prices in recent years and economic problems after the pandemic. The difficulties faced by groups in need of social assistance, such as the homeless, students, immigrants and the elderly, in finding housing, are increasing day by day. Users facing this problem are looking for various temporary or permanent accommodation solutions. As a result of the increase in housing problems and the lack of qualified structures, the tiny house movement, which is used in the world, has started to attract attention in our country. Tiny houses, which are seen as a smaller, economical and sustainable answer, can be an answer to the problem of housing. In this article, first of all, the point of accommodation problems was examined. Then, as a result of the literature review, the definitions of tiny houses were made. Tiny houses were examined in terms of socioeconomic and sustainability in order to develop recommendations. Finally, in line with the information obtained, suggestions have been developed for users, sanctions and manufacturers for a more sustainable use.
