DOGU LADİNİ (Picea orientalis (L.) Link.) TOHUM MESCERELERİ GENEL DEGERLENDİRMESİ

Abstract

Türkiye’de Dogu ladini agaçlandırma çalısmaları için kullanılacak tohum materyali, uygulamada mevcut 12 adet tohum mesceresinden saglanmaktadır. Söz konusu tohum mescereleri “tohum mescereleri seçim kriterleri” esasına göre degerlendirildiginde, büyük çogunlugunun amacına uygun olarak seçilmedigi, bir kısmının ise gerekli bakım ve koruma önlemlerinden uzak oldugu anlasılmaktadır. Yine bu mescerelerde yapılan inceleme sonucunda; ortalama egim % 43 gibi yüksek oranda, büyüklük 33.5 hektardan 147.5 hektara kadar degisen, rüzgara ve sosyal baskıya maruz alanlardan seçilmis olmaları nedeniyle, hektardaki agaç sayısının %51 oranında, tohum agacı sayısının ise % 56 oranında azalmıs oldugu belirlenmistir. Sonuç olarak, tohum mescerelerinden saglanan tohum materyalinin, gelecekte yapılacak agaçlandırma çalısmalarının garanti altına alınmasında yetersiz kalacagı kaçınılmazdır.

GENERAL ASSESMENT OF SEED STANDS OF ORIENTAL SPRUCE (Picea orientalis L. Link.)

Abstract

The seeds for afforestation studies with oriental spruce (Picea orientalis L.Link.) populations are usually gathered from already established seed stands. This study showed that most of the seed stands were not selected appropriately and some of them were not properly protected and maintained when evaluated according to the “criteria for selection and management of seed stands”. The average slope of seed stands was as high as 43% and the average size varied from 33.5 ha to 147.5 ha Since the stands were open to social disturbances and wind effects, the number of trees per ha decreased 51% and the number of seed trees dropped to a level of 56%. In conclusion, seeds collected from poorly established seed stands will likely jeopardize the success in reforestation studies in the future.
