COMPARING THE EFFECTIVENESS RATIOS OF PHEROMONE LURES OF IPSOWIT® , IPSTYP® , AND TYPOSAN® AGAINST IPS TYPOGRAPHUS (L.) (COL.: SCOLYTIDAE)

Abstract

In this study, effectiveness ratios of Ipsowit®, Ipstyp®, and Typosan® pheromone lures were compared. One research area within the pure spruce forests of Ardanuç-Karanlıkmeşe in Artvin Province of Turkey was selected for this study. A total of 30 pheromone traps (with ten of each type of pheromone lures) were placed in the area. The traps hunging in the third week of May in 2003 stayed for 45 days. All of them were checked four times in 45 days to count trapped insects. As a result, in the early weeks of the placement, there were more insects collected, followed by a gradual decrease in trapped insect number in the later weeks. Furthermore, there was no significant difference between Ipstyp® and Typosan® in number of trapped insects. Both pheromone lures were, however, much more effective than Ipsowit® . That is why, instead of Ipsowit® , using Ipstyp® and/or Typosan® lures against the pest would be more economic and more effective.

IPS TYPOGRAPHUS (L.) (COL.: SCOLYTIDAE) MÜCADELESİNDE IPSOWIT® , IPSTYP® VE TYPOSAN® FEROMON PREPARATLARI ETKİ ORANLARININ KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI

Abstract

Bu çalışma kapsamında Ipsowit®, Ipstyp®, Typosan® feromon preparatlarının Ips typographus (L.)’a karşı etki oranlarının araştırılması ve sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma için Artvin-Ardanuç-Karanlıkmeşe saf ladin ormanlarında deneme alanı seçilmiştir. Çalışmada her bir preparat için onar adet olmak üzere toplam otuz adet feromon tuzağı kullanılmıştır. Tuzaklar ormana Mayıs-2003’ün üçüncü haftası asılmış olup, 45 gün asılı olarak kalmıştır. Tuzaklara düşen böcekler bu süre zarfında toplam dört kez kontrol edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, tuzakların asıldığı ilk haftalarda daha fazla zararlı yakalanmış, ilerleyen haftalarda ise bu sayı kademeli olarak düşmüştür. Ayrıca, Ipstyp® ile Typosan® arasında önemli bir fark olmadığı, ancak bu iki preparatın da Ipsowit®’ten çok daha etkili olduğu saptanmıştır. Dolayısıyla, I. typographus’a karşı Ipsowit® yerine Ipstyp® ve/veya Typosan® preparatlarının kullanımının daha ekonomik ve daha etkili olacağı sonucuna varılmıştır.
