Author Guidelines

1.         General Principles and File Format

  • Submission of manuscripts to our journal implies that the work has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Authors who wish to submit a manuscript must first register on the journal’s website. After logging into the system, registered authors must upload their “Manuscript”, “Cover page” along with the “📄 Copyright Release Form.pdf

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format. PDF files are not accepted.

  • The manuscript language must be Turkish or English.

  • Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the journal’s writing template.

  • Page size must be A4.

  • The text must be written in Calibri font, 11 pt, 1.15 line spacing, and justified alignment.

  • Page margins must be 3 cm (top and left) and 2.5 cm (bottom and right).

  • A single space must be left after punctuation marks (periods and commas).

  • Page and line numbers must be added to the manuscript.

  • Paragraph settings must be “Before: 0 pt” and “After: 12 pt.”

2. Article Structure and Page Limits

  • Research articles should not exceed 20 pages, including references, figures, tables, and appendices.

  • Review articles should not exceed 25 pages.

4. Cover Page

The cover page must include:

  • Title of the manuscript (in the manuscript language)
  • Full names of the authors (without academic titles)
  • Institutional affiliations of the authors

The corresponding author’s full contact details (full address, e-mail, phone, and fax numbers) must be clearly stated.

5. Abstract and Keywords (Turkish and English)

The abstract should briefly include:

  • The rationale of the study
  • Objectives
  • Methodology
  • Main findings
  • Conclusions and recommendations

The same information must also be provided in the other language (English if the manuscript is in Turkish, and vice versa).

The abstract must be written in Calibri 9 pt and contain 100–250 words.

Keywords must be minimum 3 and maximum 6, and also provided in both languages.

6. Main Text Sections and Formatting

The main text should consist of the following sections:

  • Introduction
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results (and Discussion)
  • (Discussion and) Conclusion
  • References

Headings:

  • Main headings: All uppercase, bold, and numbered
    (e.g., 1. INTRODUCTION)
  • Primary subheadings: First letters capitalized, bold, numbered
    (e.g., 1.1. Data Collection Method)
  • Secondary subheadings: First letters capitalized, italic, numbered
    (e.g., 1.1.1. Statistical Analysis)

Footnotes should be avoided as much as possible. If necessary, they may be used under tables or figures.

Paragraphs must start without indentation, and no extra spacing should be left between paragraphs.

7. Tables and Figures

The term “Table” should be replaced with “Figure.”

Tables and figures (graphs, photos, maps, etc.) must be placed appropriately within the text and numbered.

  • Table titles must be placed above the table
  • Figure captions must be placed below the figure

Titles should be concise and explanatory.

Figures must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and widths of 8.15 cm or 17 cm.

Only horizontal lines should be used in tables.

Only the first letters of table/figure titles should be capitalized.

If titles span multiple lines, hanging lines must align with the first line.

  • The word “Figure” or “Table” must be bold, explanations in normal font
  • Table titles must be left-aligned
  • Figure captions must be centered

Table text may be reduced to Calibri 8 or 10 pt if necessary.

Tables and figures must be referenced in the text
(e.g., Table 1, Figure 2)

8. Equations and Units

If local names of species are used, their scientific names must be provided at first mention.

Equations must be:

  • Written within the text
  • Numbered
  • Right-aligned

The SI unit system must be used.

Decimal separator must be a dot (e.g., 2.5).

Percentage sign must be written before the number without space (e.g., %18).

Additional rules:

  • Use g for gram, ha for hectare
  • Do not place a period after unit symbols
  • Leave one space between number and unit (e.g., 10 ha)
  • Unit symbols must be lowercase unless derived from proper nouns (e.g., Pa)

Large numbers may be grouped with spaces (e.g., 85 000 ha).

For numbers less than 1, a leading zero must be used (e.g., 0.46 m).

9. Referencing (APA 7) 📄 APA-Style-APA-7 

All references cited in the text must be listed in the References section and vice versa.

References must be:

  • Listed alphabetically
  • Written in full citation format
  • In Calibri 9 pt, 1.15 spacing
  • With hanging indent (1 cm)

APA 7 style must be used.

In-text citation:

  • Single author: (Yılmaz, 2021)
  • Two authors: (Yılmaz & Yavuz, 2018)
  • Three or more: (Yılmaz et al., 2021)

If an author has multiple works in the same year, use a, b, c (e.g., 1998a, 1998b).

If a DOI exists, it must be included as a URL link (without “doi:”).

If no DOI is available, provide the access URL.

For web sources, include access date and URL.
