Abstract

Abstract

One of the most difficult issues for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder is the development of social skills. For this reason, developing social skills plays a key role in the development of children with ASD. ASSP was developed by Bellini-Hopf in 2007 to evaluate the social skills of children and young people with autism between the ages of 7-17. In 2009, Demir created the ASSP-T Turkish Form by carrying out validity and reliability studies as well as Turkishization studies of ASSP. Validity and reliability studies of the ASSP-T form were conducted with data received from parents. For this reason, the purpose of the research is to re-calculate the validity and reliability of ASSP-T with the data received from teachers. Within the scope of the research, data of 205 children with ASD were accessed. According to the results of the analysis, the factor structure of the scale was evaluated as 3-factor as in the original. In the confirmatory factor analysis, it was revealed that all of the calculated fit indices were within excellent or acceptable reference ranges and the construct validity of the scale was ensured. In addition, as a result of the test results obtained from the subscales and the entire scale, it was seen that the scale provided reliability on the basis of item, factor and scale item total and gave highly reliable results. As a result, it can be said that the ASSP-T Teacher Form is a scale that can be used to determine the social skill levels of children between the ages of 7-17.
