AIM
- ASA Journal is an international, peer-reviewed, academic, and open access journal published electronically twice a year (in June and December) by the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at Ankara Social Sciences University. Special or commemorative issues may also be published when deemed necessary.
- The aim of the journal is to share original, high-quality, and scholarly contributions in the fields of social and human sciences with the academic community and the broader public, and to support the advancement of these fields.
- ASA Journal accepts only original works that have not been previously published or are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- The journal publishes original research articles, article translations, and book reviews or critiques. The publication languages are Turkish and English.
- ASA Journal adopts an open access policy. All published works are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
Scope
ASA Journal accepts submissions from the following core disciplines and their related subfields, in line with the academic focus of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at Ankara Social Sciences University:
- Anthropology: Cultural anthropology, social anthropology, medical anthropology, visual anthropology, anthropological theory, ethnographic methods, community studies, and other related subfields within this discipline.
- Literature: Classical and modern Turkish literature, comparative literature, literary theory, folk literature, oral culture, narrative analysis, linguistic studies, and other related subfields within this discipline.
- Philosophy: Ethics, political philosophy, epistemology, ontology, philosophy of science, contemporary philosophical approaches, history of philosophy, philosophy of language, and other related subfields within this discipline.
- Psychology: Social psychology, developmental psychology, cultural psychology, cognitive psychology, personality psychology, psychological theories, history of psychology, and other related subfields within this discipline.
- Sociology: Social structure, urban sociology, sociology of religion, media and cultural studies, gender studies, political sociology, international relations, economic sociology, sociology of education, sociological theories, and other related subfields within this discipline.
- History: Ancient history, medieval history, Ottoman history, social history, cultural history, intellectual history, historiography, archival studies, and other related subfields within this discipline.
The journal’s target audience includes academics, researchers, graduate students, and professionals working in or interested in the fields of social and human sciences.
