We Get to Know with Our Animal Friends in The Search of Honey, Milk and Egg: Honey

Abstract

The children reach the information about soil, crops and livestock from only books, television or internet because they have lived apartment or away from nature in today's society. This information is not sufficient in food recognition children who need a healthy diet. Children’s see the milk, honey, eggs as packed in the supermarket shelf, they do not know how the formation of these nutrients. Education is a very important situation in human life in the preschool period. Won habits during this period continue throughout life. The objectives of the project; to teach with scientific knowledge for the children, how to obtain healthy food such as eggs honey, milk. In this study is to introduce the results of the project entitled “We get to know with our animal friends in the search of honey, milk and egg” within the scope of the project group activities of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) Schools of Nature and Science (4004). Different topics such as soil, plants, bees, honey and applications shall be made by interdisciplinary studies in the scope of the project. To be equipped with scientific knowledge of the target audience, the perspective directions of science development and self-reliance will be contributing to the increase. 120 Students ages 5-6 as a target audience which are studying Yedişehitler and Çünür preschool in Isparta are selected. Within the scope of the project, activities were held to teach honey concept. These activities were recognized as soil, plants, bees make honey and drama. Before the event, students test consisting of 10 questions about the honey bee, and the front has been applied. After the events, a final test was conducted to determine what the students learned. The results of the project have shown that honey and bee knowledge of children is increasing

Bal Süt Yumurtanın İzinde Hayvan Dostlarımızla Tanışıyoruz: Bal

Öz

Bu çalışmada TÜBİTAK tarafından Doğa ve Bilim Okulları (4004) proje grubunda desteklenen Bal, Süt, Yumurtanın İzinde Hayvan Dostlarımızla Tanışıyoruz isimli projede bulunan Bal etkinliği sonuçları sunulmuştur. Projede toprak, bitki, bal ve arı gibi farklı konularda gözlem ve uygulamalar disiplinler arası çalışmalar ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Isparta İli Yedişehitler ve Çünür Toki İlkokullarında öğrenim gören 120 adet 5-6 yaş okul öncesi öğrencilerin gelişim özelliklerine yönelik hazırlanmış farklı öğretim yöntemleri (gezi-gözlem, deney, drama, oyun) yer almaktadır. Proje kapsamında bal kavramının öğretilmesine yönelik etkinlikler yapılmıştır. Bu etkinlikler toprağı tanıyoruz, bala dönüşen bitkiler, arılar bal yapar ve dramadan oluşmaktadır. Etkinliklerden önce öğrencilere bal ve arı ile ilgili 10 sorudan oluşan ön test uygulanmıştır. Etkinliklerden sonra da öğrencilerin neler öğrendiğini belirlemek için son test uygulanmıştır. Öğrenciler etkinliklerde küçük gruplara ayrılarak daha etkin bir öğrenme yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Projenin sonuçları, çocukların bal ve arı bilgisinin artış gösterdiğini ortaya koymuştur
