"Brand" in Sustainability of Foreign Trade: Isparta Province Case
Abstract
'Sustainable development' and 'sustainable competition' are complementary concepts. Countries are adopting eco-friendly modes of production to make their development sustainable while trying to make their global competitiveness sustainable. Today, the strong form of global competition is 'brand and branding'. Because brand, standard and quality products of companies are the indication of giving the consumers with price advantage. In order to make foreign trade sustainable in an economy, it is necessary to make local foreign trade sustainable. This is also true for Turkey. But unfortunately, the ostentatious foreign trade deficits in Turkey show the weakness of the country's foreign trade against international competition. Study; In order to make Turkey's foreign trade sustainable, the branding is first investigated in the local and then in the country. In this context, the province of Isparta was determined as a sample and the branding ability of the province in foreign trade was tested by qualitative analysis method. The findings show that the foreign trade companies in Isparta are not in the trademark and even the companies that they think are trademarks are not trademarks abroad
