Boz Üy In The Kyrgyz Culture
Abstract
Almost all the nomadic Turkish tribes used boz üy (tent). Kyrgyz people have never given up on using boz üy at any moment in their lives which is the authentic value of their ancestors, and they have always considered it as a part of their lives and used it. Family lives, traditions, customs and beliefs of Kyrgyz people could be understood by looking at the boz üy which is easy to carry and set up, and adaptable to the nomadic life style.
In this study, the significance of boz üy which is the living space of Kyrgyz people has been mentioned and beliefs and traditions about boz üy have been touched upon.
