Yeşilhisar, Kayseri'ye bağlı bir ilçedir. Yöredeki el dokumacılığı geçmış
yüzyıllarda Karahisar Halıları olarak tanınmıştı.
Yeşilhisar Halı Yastıkları'nın malzemesi yün ve pamuktur. Bu dokumalar
45-65x80-1 lO cm. boyutlarına ve 10 cm.'de 25-28x28-30 ilme (düğüm) sayısına
sahiptir.
Renk olarak; "açık mavi, çık yeşil, yeşil, parlak kırmızı, dev tüyü, açık sarı,
siyah ve beyaz" vs., motif olarak; "rozet çiçeği, koç boynuzu, inci dizisi / şerit,
Türkmen gülÜ, sekiz kollu yıldız, yapraklı çiçek, parmak çiçeği, karatl, kanca,
ejder, akrep" vs. kullanılmaktadır.
Yeşilhisar Halı Yastıkları Yahyalı, Niğde, Nevşehir, Kırşehir, Konya
Aksaray gibi merkezlerin etkisindedir.

Abstract
Yeşilhisar is a disctrict of Kayseri. Handwoven craftsmanship had been
known as Karahisar Carpets.
Yeşilhisar carpet-covered piJlows are made of woJl and cotton. Their
dimensions are 45-65x80-11 O cm. and h~ve 25-28x28-3ü knots at every 10 cm.
Colors vary from light blue, light gren, gren, bright red, camel-color, light yellow,
black to white and motifs are badge flower, ram's hom, pearl string, Turkoman
rose, eight-winged star, flower wilh leaves, finger flower, eagle, hoks, dragon and
scorpion.
Yeşilhisar carpet-covered pillows are commonly inspired from tarditions of
Yahyalı, Niğde, Nevşehir, Kırşehir, Konya and Aksaray.
