Abstract

Calligraphy in Erzurum ,which is a settling area, goes back to the years when the city met the Islamic culture since the early history of the region. The most famous calligrapher of Erzurum is Tahtacızâde Hafiz Mustafa Effendi. Abstract

Tarihin ilk dönemlerinden beri yerleşme bölgesi olan Erzurum’da hat sanatı, şehrin İslam kültürüyle tanıştığı yıllara kadar gider. Köklü bir yazı ocağına sahip Erzurum’un yetiştirdiği hattatların en meşhûru, Tahtacızâde Hafız Mustafa Fehim Efendi’dir. Kendisi gibi bir çok hattat yetiştiren Mustafa Fehim Efendi’nin eserlerinin çoğu Rus istilâsında yitirilmiştir. Hat sanatının Erzurum kolunda mühim bir yeri işgal eden Mustafa Fehim Efendi 1891 yılında vefat etmiştir
