Abstract
Öz
Sevkü’l-Askeri, içeriğinde Yemen’in Osmanlı Devleti tarafından fethine ilişkin bilgiler barındırması açısından önemli bir eserdir. Bu eseri kaleme alan, Osmanlı ordusunda hizmet veren genç bir doktor Mustafa Hami’dir. Mustafa Hami’nin eserini orijinal kılan asıl mevzu ise eserinde çizdiği renkli ve siyah-beyaz resimlerdir. Bu resimler 1849 yılında yapılan bir askerî operasyonun panoramik görüntüsünü sunması açısından ayrıca öneme sahiptir. O tarihlerde fotoğraflama tekniğinin olmaması, çizimlere aynı zamanda vaka sunumu olarak ayrı bir değer de katmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Sevkü’l-Askeri, Türk literatüründe ilk kez bir araştırmaya konu yapılmış ve eserin önemi ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Ayrıca eserde bulunan çizimlerin bilimsel bir metotla incelenmesi de bu çalışmanın diğer ana temasını oluşturmaktadır. Çizimler geleneksel Türk sanatları açısından incelenerek, tarihi bir vakaya ışık tutulmaya çalışılacaktır.

Abstract
Sevkü’l-Askerî is an important manuscript in that it contains information about the conquest of Yemen by the Ottoman Empire. This manuscript was written by Mustafa Hami who served the Ottoman Army as a young doctor. What makes Mustafa Hami's book so authentic is his colorful and black and white drawings. These pictures are valuable in that they reflect a panoromic view of a military operation conducted in 1849. In those days, lack of photography techniques contributes to the drawings a different value as a case report. In this study, Sevkü’l-Askerî was treated for the first time as a research in the Turkish literature and we try to shed light on its importance. Another theme of this study is the scientific treatment of the drawings. The drawings will be examined in terms of traditional Turkish arts to shed light on historic case.
