In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the Lowbrow art movement, which was originated from dadaism, conceptual art and even pop art and began to develop at the end of the 1970s, using recent examples. The movement is encountered by the name ‘Lowbrow’, as opposed to the sense of ‘high art’ which has an exclusive and elitist attitude. In modern sense, exhibitions used to be organized for these masses in art spaces like galleries and museums. Lowbrow movement which became more active especially after 1960, began to grow in association with formations like underground comic books, punk music, illustrations and street culture, as opposed to the aforementioned modern art spaces. Therefore, fact that the movement is originated from such a substructure instead of fine arts disciplines has caused the movement to go into a certain disidentification. Technically, it is encountered as techniques such as oil on canvas and acrylic paintings, besides various statues, ceramics, arrangements and even technological pieces like cell phone.
