Hicrî üçüncü asrın ortaları ve dördüncü asrın başlarında Bağdat’ın iki meşhur
kurra imamından biri İbn Mücâhid diğeri İbn Şenebûzdur. İbn Mücâhid
Mushaf hattına uyan yedi sahih kırâatı cem etmesiyle tanınırken, tam aksine İbn
Şenebûz Mushaf hattına uymayan şaz kırâatları okumasıyla meşhur olmuştur.
Tabiatıyla bu okuyuş başına dert açmış ve İslâm Tarihinde ilk kez bir âlim dövülerek
tedib edilmiş ve bu okuyuşundan vaz geçirilerek tövbe ettirilmiştir. İşte
bu çalışmamızda İbn Şenebûz’un hayatı, dövülme olayı ve şaz kırâatlarla namaz
kılma hadisesi incelenecektir.
