it is differances about religious education, according to wordly and political
opinions of Turkey's administrators, after republic. Thats are weighty disputations: Should religious education be in official schools? How should this religious education
be? How many should be schools giving professionel religious education? What are
psitions of these schools among the other schools? The anwers of these questions
are source of these differences.
lt is observed military blows' weightiness in Turkey politics, after 1960. These
blows are cases of power's varitions. The aproach of every power is different about
religious education according to they's wordly and political opinions. İn 1960 and
1970 military blows did not effect directly religious education. But, it may be said that
in 1980 and 1997 militarly blows effected directly religious education. İt was taken
decisions in favour of religious education in 1980. Religious education was made
necessary lesson ın state schools. This lesson was determined with moral lesson as
two hours a week in primary education. High education schools giving official
religious education were converted to Divinity Faculty. İn 1997, it was interfered to
the number of secondary schools giving official religious education. Also, it was
brought some interdictions to these schools about they's eties to higher education.
Consequetly, the number of students in these schools reduced imporlantly. Moreover,
the number of students in higher education giving offıcial religious education were
decreased.
it may be said that positive developments were happened in the field of
religious instruction and official religious education until 1997.
