Abstract

The cutaneous mucinosis is a group of disorders having abnormal accumulation of jelly-like mucin in the skin. A 5 year old, shar-pei breed dog referred to Veterinary Teaching Hospital with the complaints of recurrent dermatologic conditions (including asymptomatic numerous bullae and erythema on the skin). Peripheral blood smear and aspiration smear of bullous material stained with Diff-Quick revealed severe mastocytosis. Idiopathic mucinosis was confirmed with biopsies taken from the affected skin. Methylprednisolone acetate and cephalexin were initiated. Any deterioration occurred during 2 year follow-up

Shar-pei Irkı Bir Köpekte İdiyopatik (Primer) Kutanöz Müsinözis ve Mastositozis

Öz

Kutanöz Müsinözis jelatin benzeri müsinin patolojik olarak deride biriktiği bir grup hastalığı ifade etmektedir. 5 yaşlı Shar-pei ırkı bir köpek Veteriner Fakültesi Hayvan Hastanesine tekrarlayan dermatolojik problemler (Deride asemptomatik bullöz lezyonlar ve eritemli alanlar) ile getirilmiştir. Diff-Quik’le boyanan büllöz materyal aspiratı ve periferal kan frotilerinde şiddetli Mastositozis tespit edilmiştir. Etkilenmiş deri bölgelerinden alınan biyopsi örnekleri ile idiyopatik kutanöz müsinözis teşhis edilmiş, metilprednisolon asetat enjeksiyonu ve sefaleksin uygulanmıştır. 2 yıldır takibi yapılan hastada her hangi bir kötüleşme görülmemiştir.
