Peer-Review Statement

All articles published in the Atatürk University Journal of Veterinary Sciences (original research article, case report, review) go through a rigorous evaluation process, firstly by the editorship and then by at least two reviewers. The aim of this process is to ensure the elimination of low quality articles and plagiarism in addition to improving the authenticity and scientific quality of the articles.

The Process of Manuscript Evaluation

1. The original research article, case report or review type manuscripts are submitted to the journal with “Article Check List Form”.

2. The manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to preliminary evaluation by the editorship (compliance with journal writing rules, scientific qualty and plagiarism). At this stage, the editorial board may reject the article, revision may requested or it may decide to be subject to peer review.

3. Manuscripts that are decided to be subject to reviewer evaluation are submitted to at least two reviewers.

4. The identities of both reviewers and authors are concealed from each other throughout the review (Double-blind review).

5. The reviewers evaluate the manuscripts in areas such as journal writing rules, scientific quality, contribution to national/universal science and practice.

6. The manuscript is returned to the Editor with a recommendation by the reviewer regarding the rejection, revision or acceptance of the manuscript.

7. The editor makes a decision in accordance with the proposals of the reviewer to be notified to the author.

8.  The manuscript is sent back to the author together with the reviewer reports.

9. After the editor receives the revised final version of the manuscript made by the author, the editor makes the necessary checks and gives the acceptance letter and puts the article in the order of printing.
