A Journey of Hero Science Fiction and Cinema from Antique Myths

Year 2017, Volume: 3 Issue: 1, 11 - 22, 01.04.2017

Abstract

The study that has been designed as articles series primarily purports to determine the things Fantastic Literature represent both inside and outside its borders. During this analysis, through the relationship of fantastic literature with its sub-genre science fiction via fantasies, the text will dwell on how this relationship has led/might lead to inventions and developments. However, at the centre of all these analyses, it is claimed that although the understanding of Fantastic Literature in both the East and the West have distinct representations, actually it is proposed that they both have unchanging archetypes. In other words, the text bandies about the hypothesis that though this hero has different names, beliefs or physiologies, he lurked out from one source. The text will discuss the problematical issue that to what extent this archetype –if not only in fantastic works but also with its reflected projection on the screen– represents the Oriental and Occidental philosophy. By this way, in a sense, the past, today and the future will be united like a concrete time-plane and the answers regarding the effects of fantasy in the east and the west synthesis will be sought

Antik Mitlerden Bilim Kurguya ve Sinema Perdesine Bir Kahramanın Yolculuğu

Year 2017, Volume: 3 Issue: 1, 11 - 22, 01.04.2017
