Tiroid Papiller Kanseri Gerçekten Söylendiği Kadar Sık mı Görülmektedir?

Abstract

Amaç: Yeni kurulan üniversite hastanesi genel cerrahi kliniğinde bir yıllık tiroidektomi
operasyonu sonrası papiller kanser insidansını inceleyip paylaşmayı amaçladık.
Gereç ve Yöntem : Temmuz 2017-Temmuz 2018 tarihleri arasında tiroid bezi hastalığı tanısı ile
başvurup, tiroid cerrahisi uygulanan olguların demografik özellikleri, ameliyat öncesi tanıları,
uygulanan cerrahi yöntem, histopatoloji bulguları, morbidite ve mortalite oranları retrospektif
olarak incelendi.
Bulgular: Olguların (n=11) yaş ortalaması 36.72 (22-63) olup, %54.5’i erkekti. Ameliyat
öncesi yapılan iğne aspirasyon biyopsilerinde 6 (%54.5) olguda papiller karsinom izlendi. 10
(%90.9) olguya total tiroidektomi ameliyatı yapıldı. Tiroidektomi spesimenlerinin histopatolojik
incelemesinde 7 (%63.6) olguda papiller karsinom, 3 (%27.3) olguda papiller mikrokarsinom
izlendi. Ameliyat sonrası kalıcı komplikasyon izlenmedi.
Sonuç: Son yıllarda tiroid kanser insidansının tüm dünyada artması ve özellikle kadınlarda en
sık görülen kanser türlerinden birisi olması nedeniyle, başvuran hastalara gereklilik durumunda
mutlaka boyun ultrasonografisi ile değerlendirme yapılıp, şüpheli nodül varlığında ince iğne
aspirasyon biyopsisi (İİAB) yapılmalıdır.
