Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon Perspektifinden Diz Osteoartritine Güncel Bir Bakış

Abstract

Osteoartrit eklem kıkırdağının dejeneratif bir hastalığıdır. Artan yaşla birlikte görülme olasılığı artmaktadır. Kadınlarda daha çok görülen bu eklem hastalığı daha çok yük taşıyan büyük kalça ve diz eklemlerini ve zaman zaman elde olduğu gibi küçük eklemleri etkilemektedir. Erken tanı konulan hastalarda konservatif tedavi ile hastalığın semptomlarında azalma sağlanırken, hastalığın ilerlediği durumlarda cerrahi yöntemlere ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon, ilaç tedavisi kadar etkili ve yan etkisi olmayan bir konservatif tedavi yöntemidir. Diz osteoartritinde doğru konservatif tedavi yaklaşımlarının tercih edilmesi, hem semptomlarda azalma sağlayarak hastanın yaşam kalitesini artırmak için hem de cerrahi süreci mümkün ölçüde ertelemek için önemlidir. Aerobik egzersizler ve kuvvetlendirme egzersizleri başta olmak kaydıyla egzersizler, diz osteoartritinde tedavinin temel taşıdır. Egzersiz dışı fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon yöntemlerinin de uygun hastalarda programa eklenmesi tedavide kazanımları artıracaktır. Kilo kontrolü, hasta eğitimi ve baş etme mekanizmalarını geliştirmek konservatif tedavinin başarısını daha da artıracaktır. Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon yönünden tedavi başarısında düzenli egzersiz alışkanlığı geliştirmek ve hastalardaki iyileşmenin objektif yöntemlerle takibi yakından ilişkilidir.
