18-30 yaş aralığındaki katılımcıların sigara kullanımının işitme sistemi üzerine etkisi

Abstract

Amaç: Sigara kullanımı ile işitme kaybı arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi.

Gereç ve yöntem: Sigara içen 33 vaka grubu ile sigara içmeyen 29 kişilik kontrol grubunun odyolojik sonuçları karşılaştırıldı. Bunun için her iki gruba da Yüksek frekan dahil odyometri, timpanometri ve otoakustik emisyon testleri yapıldı.

Bulgular: Bu çalışmada 62 hastaya uygulanan işitme testlerin sonuçlarında sigara kullanıma durumuna göre saf ses odyometre testin ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır . 8000 Hz frekansının ortalamasına bakıldığında iki kulağın arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur. Timpanometre testinin tipleri ve amplitüd ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir fark elde edilmemiştir . Otoakustik emisyonun DPOAE testi ise sağ kulağın sonuçlarının arasında anlamlılık bir fark bulunmamıştır , aynı zaman sol kulakta anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur ve son olarak TEOAE testi tüm sonuçlarda anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır.

Sonuç: Sigara tam anlamıyla işitme sistemini etkilemese de kısmen etkilemektedir. Özellikle yüksek frekanslarda işitmede azalmaya neden olmaktadır
